Durisol Today

Durisol is a leading supplier of noise barrier walls and other products in the United States and Canada. Durisol offers “turn-key” solutions, including: design; processes for carrying out product development, testing, and approvals; engineering; manufacturing in its ISO-certified facilities; and project management.

Durisol is a division of Armtec Limited Partnership (ALP), which is the operating arm of Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund (AIIF).  AIIF operates a network of approximatley 50 production and other facilities and 150 sales people throughout Canada and the United States.  The growth of Durisol is being accelerated by the accessibility of AIIFsales personel and precast plants from coast to coast. 

Durisol specializes in the processing and manufacturing the unique material “Durisol”.  “Durisol” is a cement bonded, wood particle composition and when hard, has a density less than 850 kg per cubic meter. This light weight material is porous, rigid, non-combustible, vermin and fungus proof, thermally insulating, free-thaw resistant and in particular, highly sound absorptive. 

These properties and its mouldability into architecturally pleasing surfaces make it very suitable for applications where sound absorption and durability are a prerequisite.  Durisol also processes the standard variety of concrete mixes. 

Most of the manufactured products are a combination of “Durisol” and standard reinforced concrete.  Durisol always sells its products in a package of various components making up a complete system such as the Durisol Noise Barrier Wall System and the Durisol Retaining Wall System.
