What is Durisol

Durisol products have been manufactured in North America since 1953, when Durisol Materials Limited was incorporated. The company later became Durisol Inc., and more recently, has become a division of the Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund.  The Durisol license for the technology was originally acquired from the Swiss developers of the “Durisol” composition.

Up until 1977, Durisol products were comprised of wall forms, floor forms, roof planks, wall panels, and insulation boards.  Durisol Materials Limited entered the noise barrier market in 1977 under the guidance of Hans J. Rerup, Consulting Engineer.

The first Durisol noise barrier wall in North America was manufactured and installed in Toronto in 1977.

Over the next 10 years, Durisol  focused on the acoustic properties of the “Durisol” material by manufacturing products related to highway noise barriers, retaining walls, and other acoustic applications.

In the last 30 years, hundreds of miles of Durisol noise barriers have been installed in North America and around the world.
