Project Overview
Warwick, Rhode Island
As part of the TF Green Airport expansion, the need for a noise and visual barrier along residential property lines became essential due to increased UPS freight activities. This is the first-ever Durisol project in Rhode Island, marking a major milestone not only for RIAC but potentially for airport infrastructure in the region.
Design Solutions
Initially, the project specified a 20′ post spacing with solid concrete panels. Durisol proposed a value-engineered alternative using the NB15 system — a more cost-effective and efficient design. By working closely with AECOM and RIAC through the award process, we successfully revised the barrier plans, reducing post spacing to 15′ and replacing standard concrete with our durable, high-performance product.
This project sets a precedent for future airport and infrastructure noise mitigation initiatives in Rhode Island. It showcases Durisol’s ability to deliver innovative, cost-efficient solutions while enhancing community well-being.
